Solve : Copying files from computer to a flash drive? |
|
Answer» I'm really a novice here when it comes to this, so I need some help. I am using Quintessential Music Player to organize & PLAY my MP3's. What I am trying to do is to simply copy my music (MP3's) over to a flash drive. I want to be able to do this directly from the QMP's song list instead of from the directory where they are stored on my computer. The reason for that is that when I LOOK at these music files which are stored under My Documents > My Music, half of my SONGS only show the song title, not the artist or the album title. I want all of that to show in my car when I'm playing them. IN QMP, when I look at it's songs list, everything about that song shows & I want the same thing on my flash drive. Can someone help me here? soybean: and some headunits now come with usb ports and the codecs to play mp3, acc, and mp4 filesOK, I was not aware of that. You sparked by curiosity and I found an automotive unit with USB: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_24672_Pioneer_AVH-P3200BT.aspxMy Fiat 500 has one It also works to charge ipods and the like.Quote from: soybean on November 28, 2010, 07:39:18 AM How do you play songs on a flash drive in your car? The new Fords have a system called Sync. Part of this system allows you to play music with anything stored via a USB device. I currently use a flash drive instead of an actual MP3 player. KenQuote from: talontromper on November 28, 2010, 07:51:23 AM you have to edit the files to that, odds are that the albums and other info was filled in by QMP. If that's the case then rt click on the files you want to show albums and such on and go to properties and click the details tab and fill it in. Yes, this info was provided by QMP. But when you say "fill it in", do you mean MANUALLY? I'd guess there are probably about 100 songs (shown under My Music) that only show the song title. Seems like that would take me forever. Here's an example of what I'm talking about; the first one shows the song title, artist & album when played. The 2nd one doesn't. So what you are saying, for those that only show the song title, I must manually edit the file name to make it look like example 1 below? 01_-_good_time_-_good_time 25 Rhythm Of The Rain EDIT: Ok, I just tried what you said & when I right click on the song & go to Properties, I'm not seeing a details tab; only 2 tabs...general & summary. I can click the Summary tab, but it only allows me to change the song title. FYI: I'm using Windows XP. Kenthey're might be a program for this, to load the qmp data into the songs, but as far as i know for adding it to the song titles i think that it has to be done individually. I wonder if this "QMP data" is in fact ID3 tags. These can include Year - Genre - Album - Artist - Track - Title etc. There are plenty of apps that can apply these to mp3 files. I use on called Tag And Rename, and Mp3tag is a free one which can get tag info by online lookups. That's what i had THOUGHT as well, but i couldn't find any prgms that would convert the id3 tags to file names. |
