Solve : Copying MS Word from 1 laptop to another?

Answer»

I have a laptop with an optical drive with an older version of MS Word installed. I also have a copy of the CD. I have a newer laptop WITHOUT an optical drive. I can't seem to figure out how to use a memory stick to copy it from one pc to the other. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.I would suggest picking up an external optical drive, it would make things much simpler.I have actually done it before but it was a long time ago and I can't remember what I did! The main issue is how to copy it from my CD or the HD of the one laptop to the memory stick. Drag and drop might work but only if the right FILES are involved.Quote from: Quantos on July 08, 2011, 10:22:29 PM

I would suggest reading (1) the rules of this forum concerning piracy and seeking advice about breaking copyright and licensing restrictions (2) The MICROSOFT Office EULA.

Quote
From the Office Standard 2007 EULA
"2. INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS. Before you use the software under a
license,
you must assign that license to one device. That device is the "licensed
device." A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a separate
device.
a. Licensed Device. You may install and use one copy of the software on the
licensed device.
b. Portable Device. You may install another copy on a portable device for
use by the single primary user of the licensed device."

So with standard Office you can install on 1 (one) fixed (desktop) COMPUTER and 1 (one) portable (laptop, notebook, net top, netbook) computer. Two laptops would violate the EULA.
Nice CATCH Salmon.
