Solve : Deleting Macromedia Shockwave 8x? |
|
Answer» Apparently the program that I've mentioned is obsolete. It's been replaced with Adobe Shockwave of which I already have the latest version. I'd like to remove Macromedia but it's not in Add/Remove programs. I find the program in; path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 8\SwInit.exe (which is version 8.5.1.102). Once I get into Macromed, there is an Unwise(uninstall) option and normally this is what I would do. My concern is; I get quite a bold warning, not to remove or CHANGE any files etc. in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32.,but they do let you view all files and this is where I find the "unwise icon". I could just leave Macromedia but it's 20+ Mb and it keeps showing up in Secunia PSI as an "End Of Life" program and gives me a SOLUTION that doesn't SOLVE the problem. Anyway, because of the warning I'm wondering if I should have any concerns uninstalling this program ? Thanks, overthehillI would remove it and just reinstall the Adobe, just in case I would make a restore point first though.
