Answer» Hi, my name is Andreas. Hi, my name is Andreas. Hello Andrias, Totally unfamiliar with this package so I resorted to "The Pointdexter's Friend" Google, preliminary homework reveals it's ranking is equal to an abscessed molar, it is intended to run on a LAN, it is not clear whether or not it's dependent on a pre existing installation of "My SQL" or if the database engine is included in the package. For install purposes apparently it is internet dependent, was not intended for distribution outside of Australia and apparently the only support available outside of Australia is via Email. Publishers site: http://www.ialda.com/ This just seems like a bad choice, especially if it is going to play a "Mission Critical" role in education. While chasing answers two possible alternative resources received accolades in free school management software. http://www.thesuntech.com/SchoolImages/Setup.exe http://www.edvisions.com/custom/SplashPage.asp Another resource I have had personal experience with is www.opensuse-education.org/ however this is not a Windows based system, in my estimation a good system however in general perception it is regarded with APPREHENSION and considered as "too difficult" I have often found just the opposite to be the case. The interface is just as intuitive but different, there is a learning curve and some additional administrative effort is initially required. The thing here is how vested your school's infrastructure is in Windows applications, why walk across the street for a fight when you can get to where you want to go staying on your side of the street. Relax, take a seat with a pad and pen, define the parameters of what you requirements are, what you expect in a management system and what your future needs may evolve to. Technology has given us eons of collected wisdom with a click of a finger, the real challenges are learning what to do with it and determining the right questions to ask. Well Andrias, wish we could have solved this quagmire in one stroke but now you've got a BIT of homework, our community is here to help and support and were happy to, once you decide on a direction please feel free to visit any time, your free to leave me a PM anytime, also when you do.. please tell us what version of Windows you’re using and your computers specs, it does make life easier, Thank you for visiting. Hello Andreas |
