Solve : Desperate situation?

Answer»

First of all, i'm going to speek not so well in ENGLISH, because i'm from lithuania.

I'm here, willing to help me.

I had problem with 2 things.
Frist is USB, second - sound.
USB. Before formating my pc, usb (usb FLASH, usb camera cable, phone usb cable) were working very well. But now, it is dead! Even a device manager didn't show anything familiar with USB? When i plug usb-flash, computer keeps in silent... My computer can't find anything about removable devices... What should i do?

My second problem is sound. When I start my pc, it just loads fine, with sound (XP welcome sound), i can play films, youtube-like movies, anything, and i can hear sounds, but, ater few mins, maybe about ten, it dissapears. Winamp brings up error, classic players brings up error, both saying that something wrong with sound... I have to RESTART my pc to have my sound back on... but only for few mins!

All these problems ocured after format, i have tried reinstaling my motherboard drivers, my sound card drivers, and also, tried to instal an USB drivers... Nothing helped. Maybe you can help me?

First foto displays, no usb controllers, and also shown that is nothing wrong with sound, meanwhile sound is disappeared.

Second foto shows, what kind of error brings dxdiag after sound disappeared

Last foto shows, control panel showing, that i haven't got any sound device....

My PC SPEC:
athlon 64 3000+ 2.0GHZ
1 GB of RAM
GeForce FX 5950Ultra
Realtek AC'97 soundcard inegrated

WIN XP SP2

[Saving space - attachment deleted by admin]when reformatting / reinstalling your system did you hit F6 to install
the USB drivers?? If not you should be able to install them later BUT YOU NEED
the correct drivers for THE CORRECT OS your using.....

download them and burn to a CD and use F6 when installing the OS....

try that...as for the sound issue...Download and run Everest Home.

Save the report as a text file, and attach it in your next post. @fgdn17 when i pressed F6 during instalation i was pleased to insert a floppy disk into A drive, so i haven't got it... Futhermore, I took my pc and bring to the computer specialist, what he did is just formatted and INSTALLED new OS, (win xp sp2) that's all.

heres report:

yes that's the "last resort" solution and cheapest for someone who charges to fix your machine...

you could have done that yourself...anyway glad it's fixed...you don't understand, computer specialist just formatted and installed of, nothing more, but sound and usb still not working... dunno what to do...

in addition to this, my friend asked to look up my computer -> manage -> services and applications -> services for windows audio, and i found that it was 'not started', when i start it, by the time he turning off again... something wrong... when i just set 'restart the service' if it fail to load or stop working.. but i think, that still something wrong... especially with usb,,.. Julencijus- your computer "expert" simply didn't install the drivers, as you said.

drivers for Motherboard USB, Sound and a few others can be found here

although you say you've tried this, which I just noticed. So I don't know how helpful that will be.i have tried this too... installled many versions of usb 1.1, 1.2, 2.0... but still nothing... nothing noticed in driver manager, dead usb flash memories, dead digital camera... dead everything... now I understand how additct I am with USB...Quote from: julencijus on November 30, 2008, 07:48:35 AM
. installled many versions of usb 1.1, 1.2, 2.0...

what do you mean? You only have one version...

and there isn't a USB 1.2- so that is likely driver versions.i tried install 2.0... installed - nothing happened, so i tried older versions.. same sh*t... I think there is problem somewehe in the BIOS.. but i'm not experienced much, to do something there...hello again... I got some good news! And for now, with my pc is EVERYTHING ok! At last! thank you for your help. Best REGARDS.
