Solve : Devices not identified and no internet?

Answer»

I just got a custom built PC from my friend and there are six devices that have no info about them. One of them is the ethernet controller. My friend told me it has wireless capabilities but I can't find anything about that device. I can get on the internet but I have to use a hotspot that I plug in to the USB port. When I try to use the internet to update the drivers nothing is found. I am pretty MUCH lost. Any help?If a desktop computer and the devices such as Ethernet are integrated to the MOTHERBOARD, I'd look at the motherboard for a make/model number to get the drivers direct from board manufacturer. And example would be like the silk screen of my older GAMING system that shows MCP6PB M2+ and is a Biostar. I can go online and get all the drivers off of Biostar's website as well as flashes if needed, although i wouldnt FLASH the bios unless it is absolutely necessary to fix a bug or to add support for faster more modern CPU support as was the case with myself to install a quadcore to this board.

If the Network Adapters are cards in slots. Carefully remove them and write down info on them such as make/model, PART number or FCC ID. Then go to the manufacturers website of these cards and download the drivers to a USB thumb drive as for they can be just a few megs in size to a few hundred megs.
