System: Micrsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600
Computer: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz
Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB Total Virtual Memory 1.27GBBefore you try to resolve anything, go ahead, and install SP2.ok im a little more up to date i just installed this version of windows i was on Ubuntu but i came back to windblowz for my gaming needs. Still having same prob? Uninstall DirectX, using this: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/DirectX-Eradicator.shtml and then, install the newest version.ok thanks for your HELP i removed Directx but im still having problems From DXError.log: i have redownloaded TWICE from two sources both directx_nov2007_redist.exe i havent validated this version of windows it is installed from a copy i did pay for tho that is why im using the redist

also for some reason system32 was read only and hidden kinda "cloaked" but i found a work around http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256614/en-us but it didnt help with the directx probQuote i havent validated this version of windows Why?
Did you actually install that SP2?im starting to think maby this was just a bad installation of the operating system maby i should reformat and install from another XP cd?If you don't have any data to loose, I'd go for itits an older "bootleg" that i made from a copy of xp i bought dont have the orginal but i have had trouble validating i have installed it on many PC's in the last few years, I think that kinda violates my EULA? "bootleg" is pretty much forbidden word around here, so I must shut up...Sorry.i mean back up....sorry You need SP2 for this to work properly... Topic Closed.
