Answer» Hello everyone,
How goes it? This is my first post to this site. I searched the forum for my problem and found a few threads but none had any solutions. What happens is, when I first boot my computer, my DVD and CD burner DRIVES will show up in explorer. At some unkown point after that they stop showing up. This is accompanied by a problem I am having installing a game (black and white 2) where it keeps saying that it is searching for files it cannot find while installing. I don't know if that is related but thought I would throw it in there in case it is. Here is some system info on my PC:

If not try this. Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager. Right click both of the optical drives and select remove. You will get a warning...ignore it.
Upon re-boot Windows will automatically re-install the devices.
Let us Know. Thanks for the reply. I do not use daemon tools. The thing is, the drives always show up after reboot. It is later that they dissapear. However, I will try your suggestion and see what happens.
BTW, I forgot to mention, I use Norton Antivirus 2005 and Fix-It Utilities 5.
