How do you know if you have malware? I have been having problems with my desktop. A while back I logged my computer off and SHUT it down. The next day I come back to it, and it began acting funny. It reverted back to the Classic Windows look and it does not allow me to change it back. The computer also does not open internet explorer, it pops onto the screen as a white page, then just disappears. My McAfee does not open either, I wanted to run a virus scan on the computer but it just doesn't even attempt to open.

I WOULD like to figure out whats wrong with my computer and see if I am able to fix it before I just throw it out. If you think you might know whats wrong or need any other information PLEASE feel free to reply back to me. You posted much the same info on the XP forum under the subject "SYSTEM Restore Won't Run" - please do not double post.
