Answer» Hello everybody, Im working on an Old emachine etower 500id. Originally it had Windows 98SE installed now it has Windows XP Pro. The problem is i have no SOUND. In the device manager the sound, video and game controller, it looks like its there Crystal SoundFusion(tm) Audio Device. But when i go to sound and Audio devices properties, its all faded out No Audio Device, can some ONE please give some advice, do i need the Audio Drivers? Thank you for your time. Hi, i managed to load the correct Audio drivers, its all working good. Cheers.Glad to HEAR you managed to figure it out!XP booted on that machine ? ?
What have you had to add so far ?
It originally shipped with 64M of RAM.
I'm glad that you were ABLE to get it running, just curious.... Hi, Patio XP booted fine on the machine, but 64MB RAM upgraded to 256MB RAM thats all it can take. It still has the original 10GB HD, im not to concerned about that, PC is going to be used for Word documents only. ( Its for my Mum ) I found the driver at http://www.driverguide.com it was a Crystal cs4280 intergrated sound chip driver. Thanks, take care.
