Answer» Hello again ,
I currently use ad-aware, spy-bot,crap cleaner and AVG. On my NEVER ending task of cleaning up this PC i was wondering if I still need Norton. Norton came free on the PC for 3 months and I have no plans on paying to keep it active.
Thanks, MP.I'd say you definitely don't need it because you already have AVG on there, and sometimes having 2 anti-virus programs on your computer makes them GO "WONKY". Read Here for the Norton Removal Procedure.I agree.Having more than a couple that specialize in overall protection makes all of them act crazy.I would definately say get rid of Norton.Im not a big fan of it but it works somewhat. But you have enough stuff to cover yourself. Thanks folks it's next on my list.OK There is no norton removal tool on that page. lol And I'm right in the middle.I searched and found the Norton removal tol on another page here.
BUT when I rebooted my computer it would not boot with anything else except "Boot from last known good START up" something like that. Would not even boot in Safe mode.
Is this normal.MP1975--Unfortunately anything that can be screwed up in the using or TRYING to uninstall Norton is "normal". There should be a law against them being able to install Norton on anything unless someone requests it and is prepared for the consequences. AVG free is much better. Norton invades everything on your computer. truenorthTruenorth - Thanks I just needed the nod of approval from some one who has done this before. It sure had an awful lot of entries all over the computer. I'll consider it completed and normal now.
Thanks much.
