I work as a network admin for a company that owns a lot of stores , well all the registers are running windows xp sp3 and the credit card services relie on DOT net 1.1 but yto remain pci compliant we need to have sp1 installed . Now here is where the trouble begains WILE installing sp1 it will get to 3 sec left and stop I have to cancle it adn gow in to the task manager to get it closed adn upon a reboot i get a error 2711 or 1603 I have been told to uninstall dot net and reinstall it so I tryed that and than dot net will not reinstall it goies to registering eneterprise services.dll and hangs .
I whent to microsofts HELP pages and knowklage base and they tell me to disable several services that will cause it rio hang problem is those servises are not installed .. As of yet no one seems to know how to fix this issue not even microsoft aperantly .

any help would be greatly apreciated ..try doing a repair install of .net 3 then reboot and install 1.1. you can do this via control panel - add remove programs.
