We are not SAYING they are illegal, we are saying why do it.
Just because a driver has a newer release date doesn't mean that it will perform faster or better. Drivers should only ever be UPDATED if they are not working right.
Newer is not always better, and yes, updating drivers is exactly like updating the BIOS. Don't do it unless you need to, and then only with extreme care.The entire premise that is being missed here is what i alluded to earlier...
