Answer» Hi, I was given an old Microtek MSF-300C scanner and I want to use it with my PC, just for fun, but I can't find a driver for it. Do I need a driver, at all? The manual was included, but I do not understand a single word from it, because there are lots of commands explained in it, but it is simply not said, where you have to type them in!
If someone could help me?
The scanner has a serial port, I have a PC and serveral old Macs, both with serial PORTS, too.
Regards, FloHere... Try this WEBSITE... Download the drivers off of it... Fisrt, which scanner is this? On the website, I see the Scanmaker Series, and the ArtixScan series... Any idea on which it is?
[glb]Flame[/glb]errr, which site??
if you meant microtek's site? there is no driver for this scanner.
floI was on the Microtek website... If you know which series of scanner you have, they DO have some downloads on there... Also, how old is this scanner? You MIGHT not NEED any drivers, but only if it has "Plug and Play" technology...
[glb]Flame[/glb]ok, thiis scanner is from 1986 and as I read, it was the FIRST flatbed scanner to have resolition of 300dpi in B/W!
so, it is really old, but i want to try it, yust for fun!
florian WOW That is one OLD scanner! I don't think that it has "Plug and Play" technology though...
[glb]Flame[/glb]certainly notWell.... Just give it a shot then... I don't think that it will work, but... Just so you know incase you want to find them... Drivers that are THAT old, would not be on a CD, but more than likely on a Floppy Diskette... Have fun!
