Solve : Driver updater?? |
Answer» Is there a free driver updater that searches your whole computer and installs all new drivers? It has to be free! Anything would help. I just don't want to have to go throught the process of downloading them manually and installing the 1 by 1! It takes too long! http://www.radarsync.com/ By any CHANCE have you tried this program being recommended ? ?While I haven't personally tested it, the free version is supposed to scan your system, find the drivers, download them and install them only, and only when you tell it to, but it's ad supported. Little or no tech support is provided should you have problems with their program or a driver it downloads. The paid version ($24.95/year) gives you automatic SCANS for new drivers, notifications, etc. with no ads. Tech support is provided with a "within 24 hours" guaranteed response time. CNET has the free download, but its user rating is only 2.5/5. There are 6 reviews for the current version, and 50+ reviews for previous versions, a lot of them very negative. I STILL prefer to download and install my driver updates manually and only as needed. No sense updating unless it's really necessary. The reason i asked compruler is because it installs not one but 2 toolbars.... Also some of the reviews on it were less than glowing. I tend to only recommend products that do what they're supposed to without installing things you don't want or need....Quote from: patio on June 14, 2008, 07:03:10 AM The reason i asked compruler is because it installs not one but 2 toolbars.... I totally agree with Patio. I would definitely not recommend downloading this. Too MUCH negative feedback from users, extra garbage comes with it...Quote The reason i asked compruler is because it installs not one but 2 toolbars....You can opt out during installation. I installed it, just to try it, and it seems to be doing pretty good job: Obviously, like always with those kind of programs, you have to use your brain, and decide what you want to update, and what not. In general, I don't update drivers, if there is nothing wrong with them, but the program tracks also available applications updates.I'll wait 3 weeks for an updated review... Does it run on Vista ? ? Installed on Vista here. |
