Answer» For some reason, my internet is screwing around, and I can't download the file anymore. I have opened my computer and apparently Bios not recognizing Hardware. What do you mean?Hi Carbon, Great to find you again. I try to EXPLAIN. I moved from Europe to Northamerica and took the pc with me on the plane. Once i tried to turn it on again, it gives the message: "Can not find the hard disk. Put in system disk and try again". We have tried few things, but apparently bios not recognizing hard disk. Finally, we took off the hard disk from my pc to the one I am currently using as a slave. However, we have not been able to make it work this way. We can not detect my hard disk. This weekend, I will move the hard disk back again into my pc and will be able to TELL exactly what the program writes once i turn the pc on. I thought it might have been the xrays at the airport or maybe the final consequence of the lighting. So, a problem in the hardware somewhere... Thank you again. airQuote from: air on September 22, 2008, 12:29:35 PM Hi Carbon, When you moved from Europe to North America, did your voltage change? Was Europe 220 Volts and North America is 110 Volts and you have not CHANGED the voltage selector on the back of your computer ?Most power supplies can be switched from 110 to 220 volts,or vice versa.Hi, I did not do it, but apparently the pc did it by itself. Or not? In the back of the computer, there is not a switcher. Do I have to open it and look inside? Thanks airIn the case where a power supply is set to 240V and is being supplied 120V... Nothing happens. Unless the power supply is extreme cheap, in which case they sometimes lack the switch altogether. You say you can't detect the hard disk- does this apply for attempts to slave the drive into another computer as you mentioned.i do not know, because my hard disk was not attached correctly as a slave... |
