Solve : DVD/CD rewriter prob?

Answer»

i have just replaced my dvd/cd rewriter ,but i am having problems , it goes through the burning process the music files appear on the cd disc but when  i try to play it i get no sound ?? it is a toshiba samsung 18x dvdrw and i am running windows xp HOME, sp2.........can anyone assist pls  How are you burning the disc? I.e. are you creating an audio disc or a data disc with mp3 files on etc.
How are you trying to play the disc?
Sounds like you have multi-session turned on in your burning program which means it is not being finalised. A player will then see it as an empty disk.i am using nero 7 to burn the audio files to cd, it converts to NORMAL  cd audio format
which are meant to be able to play on any cd player etc,but the pc plays the disc ok but  there is no sound at all and my cd player just says ni disk...uninstalled dvd/cd burner n reinstalled same with nero 7 but still the same ?? tried ashampoo cd burning  prog also n still doing the same ,windows media player does the same ..tried a different burner but it was also the same effect ,,its got me STUMPED !! thanks for any help Have you ever been able to play burned disc on that cd player? Some can be very picky about burned media. Have you tried playing them on another cd player? Quote from: Deerpark on August 08, 2007, 10:00:56 AM

Speed is also a factor when it comes to this.  For example...my RECORD player can play CD's burned at 64x with no problem, but my car won't play anything burned faster than 16X. i have played burned cd's on my player for years now , this has only been a problem since my old burner packed in and i replaced it .surely if it was the player my pc at least should be able to play the burned cd music, which it seems to but with no sound ,if you know what i mean ? media player etc go thru the motions etc, no multi session disk selected in my burning prog i checked that thanks ,and i have tried using slower burnind speeds but still no joy.....
