Solve : DVD codex missing?

I have recently re install windows xp on my computer and its all working fine except one thing. when i put in a dvd i cant watch it on windows media player it says that i am missing a dvd codex and to download one. i cant find any dvd software for this and they all want me to pay $50 or more to buy a new PROGRAM. i WOULD like to just get windows media player working to play dvds ( ive tried vcl media player) it was working before i re installed the software. any help would be much appreciated. thankshttp://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

LolOh, LOL, he'll pay anyway....hehehehefor being a free service there is alot of charges lol. i will try that and see how it works i installed it and the media player classic works for PLAYING dvds not the best quality and looks like it laggs a little but it will work.

But, I think one media player you're comfortable enough with should suffice
