Answer» THE PROBLEM Okay, so I've had this problem for a while. Basically, my laptop won't read any DVDS, software, CDs, etc. I PUT the disk in the drive and I can HEAR it running like its going to start up, but nothing happens. There is no drive for it on "My Computer" so I can't ACCESS it manually. Sooo, it won't autoplay and it can't be run manually. What do I do? I already checked out DEVICE management and it says the device is running fine. Not sure where I go from here. If this is under WARRANTY, take advantage of it now. Otherwise, you may need a new DVD drive. Does the drive show up in BIOS?Insert a BOOTABLE cd and reboot. Does the system boot to the cd?
