Solve : DVD drive not showing up on My Computer, cannot load any disks. :(?

Answer» THE PROBLEM
Okay, so I've had this problem for a while. Basically, my laptop won't read any DVDS, software, CDs, etc. I PUT the disk in the drive and I can HEAR it running like its going to start up, but nothing happens.

There is no drive for it on "My Computer" so I can't ACCESS it manually. Sooo, it won't autoplay and it can't be run manually. What do I do?

I already checked out DEVICE management and it says the device is running fine. Not sure where I go from here.

INFO:

Manufacturer: HP
Model: HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo PCU T5750 @ 2.00GHz
System Type: 64-bit Operating System

The disk drive is the Toshiba MK3252GSXTour problem is with the DVD drive, not the Hard disk drive.
If this is under WARRANTY, take advantage of it now.
Otherwise, you may need a new DVD drive.
Does the drive show up in BIOS?Insert a BOOTABLE cd and reboot. Does the system boot to the cd?
