Answer» What is the easiest way to make a database of files and the easiest way to find these files very quickly? Is there any way you can open the Internet Browser and just type in the file name or the folder name, and it will come up? I know that you can make folders and such, but I'm finding that I have too many folders, and whenever I use the search utility it takes forever to load. Any HELP on this would be great, and thanks in advance for your responses. What kind of database do you need to make?
Google Desktop offers a FEATURE that allows you to search your computer using an index. Is this the kind of database you are talking about?
Also, with Google Desktop, you can hit the CTRL key (or shift key... not sure exactly) twice, and a search box will show up. The search is ALMOST instant.

I'm trying to remember if Microsoft Access lets you do this... oh dear... I just found out I lost a database that was rather important....
What about just clicking CTRL+F in the Excel document and entering the word you need to search for?
