Answer» Hi, How do we know this is really your hard drive and really your data? This is asking for cracking advice, isn't it? You dont? I just really want my 1000's of songs back after I destroyed my old Vaio laptop. Is there a way? What encryption was used? Quote from: Salmon Trout on August 30, 2012, 12:59:38 PM How do you know they are encrypted? Right click > properties > advanced > encrypt contense to secure date (BOX ticked)If you have used Windows encryption, you may as well give up. That data is GONE, if you don't know the password. I have the Old account password? Are the encrypition keys not stored on the hard drive somewhere? Is this iTunes stuff? Yeah they are music files that I used iTunes to PLAY. If you move the files to a new computer (which is what you have done) you need to authorize that computer on iTunes. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420 Its not that, i cant physically move the mp3 files off the hardrive or add them to itunes off the hardrive. I get a permissions error, only some of my music files are marked as encrypted, those without the encryptions i can move, copy and add to itunes fine, its just the ones that are 'encrypted' i can do sweet FA with. Anymore ideas, did itunes do this to the files on my old computer? If the files are encrypted there's nothing you can do.Can I not access the certificates somehow, i have the hardrive from the old computer in an enclosure are then not stored in there somewhere? |
