Solve : Eudora to Outlook migration?

Answer»

I have a customer who is to migrate from Eudora 6.2 to Outlook 2003
When in Outlook 2003 some messages display as below although they displayed fine in Eudora
The messages that display as below are all messages "sent" from the User
I have used the Import to Outlook Express (where the display first shows as below) then Import into Outlook

Are there any SETTINGS I need to change in any of the Email programs ?
Is it an Outlook Express problem ?
Any help ridding the messages of the tags would be appreciated

ThanksSo, you've used Outlook Express as an intermediate step in transferring your messages from Eudora to Outlook, right? This seems to make sense, since OE has an option to import from "Eudora Pro or Light (through v3.0)", while Outlook does not have an option specifically for importing from Eudora. And, OE has an option to Export, which exports to Outlook or Microsoft Exchange. Or, you can open Outlook and Import from OE.

Did you view your messages in OE? Did they look OK there?
YES I viewed in OE & the message had changed into the format described above, so it seems the migration to OE is where the problem occursI found this reference, which looks very good: Outlook XP/2003 for Windows: Importing Eudora Email and Address Book. PERHAPS you should study it to see whether your procedure was the same as in the reference. If you see any differences in procedures, maybe you should start over, using the reference as a guide. Thanks but that is the exact process I used, there is nothing WRONG with getting the messages into Outlook, the problem is some messages are unreadable by having the Tags described at the start of the thread visibleIn OE, if you go to Tools, Options, and select the Read tab, is the box for "Read all messages in plain text" unchecked? And, if you select the Send tab, is HTML selected for Mail Sending Format? I don't know whether that might affect the procedure; just making some guesses here.

Do any HTML messages get converted to Outlook without the HTML tags appearing in the message? Will get back to you on Monday when I'm back at work, thanks for helpHad a try at Read & Plain Text, it changes the Font size but doesn't get rid of the Tags
Thanks for your help but the Customer is adament she won't change from Eudora to Outlook so I wont be pursuing any further
