Solve : Everything on my computer is too big?

Answer»

Everything on my computer is too big and the COLORS are distorted. I looked at the resolution in the control panel and everything looks fine there. I also tried to defrag, but it stays on 0% Complete. Someone said it might be the video driver ... Any suggestion out there? Oh yeah - I have an IBM thinkpad T20 (if that helps) and am running Windows 98. THANKS in Advance!!!!!!!!!!Install proper videocard drivers.Do video card drivers go bad? How do you install new ones? Around how much will that cost? Toast has nothing but questions!!!!!!! Thanks Again!!!!!!!!If your videocard is on-board use the CD-ROM with drivers that have been issued with the mainboard.

If the videocard is an expansion card, use the CD-ROM with drivers that have been issued with the expansion card.

If you have no such CD-ROM, obtain the name/model of the mainboard (If onboard) or obtain the name the name/model of your videocard (If expansion) and visit the manufacturers website. (Use Google if necessary) to obtain both drivers and manual.

Drivers are free of charge and should be issued, although most likely outdated, with the equipment you buy. Be certain to have the latest updated (and compatible) drivers. Obtain these from the manufacturers website.*** Drivers are also available from your computer manufacturer's website, or on the video card developer's site ***

[glb]Flame[/glb]I have recently experienced the same thing. I get the error message: Mmtask has caused a General PROTECTION fault mmsystem.DLL at 0004: etc etc. Quote

etc etc.

Thanks for the info Neil.

Anyways, back to the question at hand.

CHECK your video-card manufacturer's website, and find the latest drivers. Then go into the Start MENU, click Run, and type in "dxdiag" (without the ") Go the Video tab, and check if the two drivers match (website with dxdiag)

Hope I've been helpful!
