Answer» I have an excel spreadsheet that is 1.6mb and when i try to open it, it takes over 3 minutes to open. I don't know what the problem with this file is as i am able to open files in excel that are bigger then this one. Has anyone ever seen this and does anyone know of a fix. I am opening it from local drive and am running win2k with 512mb 80gb p4 3.0. Excel 2000 sp-3. Thanks, JuppeAnything unusual about the file? Latest updates installed? Can other PCs open the file OK?I figured it out. There was a fliter applied to the file and once filter was turned off the file opened in 1 second. Thanks, JUPPEStill, this seems odd. I've used filters in quite a few Excel files and NEVER noticed it made any DIFFERENCE on time needed to open the file. Do you have thousands of records in that Excel file?
