Answer» Hi
For the last 10 days or so my AV has not been updating itself automatically so I ended up downloading the latest updates manually from a software site. The updates are in the form of a zip file.
Can ANYBODY tell me how I go about extracting this update zip file into my AV program? If it's of any use, I use WINRAR!
ThanksDouble-click on the .zip file and winrar should open. Extract the files to a location of your choosing. Open your av and select the UPDATE option and point it to those files. Thanks for the quick reply Allan.
Receiving MESSAGE "The VDF update kit is corrupted. The file will not be installed."
Any ideas?
Thankshttp://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&postid=286037You could always TRY using 7-zip as it is free and uncompress it with a right click on the file. Only thing with 7-zip is you don't get error reports if the file failed. It just says it faild compression.Did you try to reinstall Avira? Are you sure, your computer is clean of any infection? Thanks for the help guys and my apologies for not closing the post earlier. Fortunately,Allan's Avira Forum link solved the problem.
