Solve : Finding Audio Driver?

I have no sound currently an it dont seem like I have an audio driver cd, I go in to device manger but I dont know where to find the sound card info or anything like that under the audio subsections.what motherboard do you have? is it onboard sound?
If it's onboard sound, check the motherboard model number and go to the motherboard manufacturer website and download drivers from them.Sorry forgot to mention its a card.What does Everest report the sound card as ?---->EverestIt was having some issues but when I was install knoppix on an MACHINE like this one it said Advance Logic Inc Als4000 Audio Chipset driver-snd-als4000Try this driver.--->HEREI downloaded the driver before you had posted just to make sure, cause I couldnt install it, here it was extracting to the C drive.I still dont have any sound, this machine was a knoppix an had sound till I made it a 2000Did you read the 'Read Me'File ?

Driver & Application Installation/Removal Procedure For Avance ALS4000 Sound System:

Setup Driver/Application at first time:
---------------------------------------

Step 1. Before installing the Avance ALS4000 Drivers & Applications, Press the
[Cancel] button if Windows detect the PCI Multimedia Audio device.

Step 2. Insert the "Avance ALS4000 Drivers & Applications" CD into the CD-ROM
drive and run the setup.exe program to finish the installation.

Step 3. Click on [Next/OK/Go] to continue the procedure. If the Windows popup
"Digital SIGNATURE Not Found" message, press [Yes] to continue the
installation.

Step 4. Finally, select to restart the system and press [Finish] to complete
the installation.

The system will reload the drivers and do some adjustments in the INF
file if so required.

Update Driver/Application:
--------------------------

Step 1. Follow Step 2,3,4 described in [Setup at first time] above to complete
the procedure.

Remove Driver/Application:
--------------------------

Step 1. Go to Start\Settings\Control Panel.

Step 2. Select [Add/Remove Programs] icon.

Step 3. Select "Avance ALS4000 Drivers and Applications" and press [Change/Remove]
button.

Step 4. Click on [Next/OK/Go] to finish the uninstallation.

Step 5. At the end of the procedure, select to restart the system and press
[Finish] to complete the uninstallation.

Run "Setup -s -f2"
i.e. setup -s -f2c:\mylog.log


Note: AlsRack only works fine under WinNT 4.0 after installing
Service Pack 3 or later.


The last part of the 'Read Me' File mentions Service Pack 3,or later,Perhaps you need
windows 2000 service pack 4.

Windows 2000 Service pack 4 is a large file.---->GoHere
