Answer» i have a costum build pc i just build and i was wondering why my FLOPPY drive light is always GREEN and when i try to SAVE SATA drivers onto various different floppy diskettes it reads, "please insert a disk into drive B". Also it shows two floppy drives Floppy a, and floppy drive b. i dont understand this because i only have one floppy drive installed... could it be a bios related issue? System specs: pentium d 930. cpu asus p5n32-sli deluxe mobo. (2x1gb) 2gb of gelil ram. bfg 7800gtx oc 512mb gpu etc... Problem simplified: I have two CD drives that work but the floppy isnt reading properly, i know this because i have tried many blank diskettes. I would very much apreciate it if someone would help me out.. Jr.If the floppy drive displays a green light all the time, then the cable is most likely backware, either on the mobo or on the drive. Did you just build this machine? Did it ever work right?
What is in the BIOS for "switch floppy drive" or some SIMILAR option. I suspect if the drive is cabled correctly and you are set to fail safe defaults that issue will go away. You can always fine tune the other options later, if needed to enhance performance.
