Solve : Getting BSOD if I'm trying to install XP on my laptop.?

Answer»

I've been using this laptop for quite a while now. It started well but when I logged on I got like 30 seconds later a BSOD saying something about ataport.sys  I thought it was no biggie. I'll just reinstall windows. The THING is that I managed to DELETE partitions and take the whole thing down.
I thought it would FIX my BSOD error but it didn't. Now I even can't install XP on it.

The video below is about where I get the BSOD.

It's giving me next error codes:

STOP: 0x0000007b (0xF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Some info about my laptop:

Processor Intel Celeron Dual Core T3500 2.10GHz 1MB cache
14,1" (1280x800)
2GB DDR2
MB Intel GL40 + ICH9-M
DVDRW DL
320GB S-ATA 8MB cache kõvaketas

.............
I tried checkdisk and it didn't found a thing. Any suggestions ?

MS Support : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103Thanks for your reply.

I tried this "Press F6 if you have to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver."

It all went good until I followed the instructions on the screen. Now it says:

"Setup could not find a floppy DRIVE on your machine to load OEM drivers from floppy disk.

*Press ESC to cancel loading OEM drivers
*Press F3 to quit setup"

What is this? Who the *censored* uses floppies? I have a CD that contains those drivers. At the point you press F6 to install additional drivers you insert the MBoard Driver CD...
If it's a homemade driver CD or 1 with the incorrect driver then you will recieve the error message stated above... Quote

Thanks for your reply.

Did you look at the link that jason posted? I think that's the problem. You need to change the setting in the BIOS. It explains it in the link.
