Answer» So I am attempting to INSERT a pasted layer on top of a frame of a gif in gimp. I tried going from a png and to a gif and a gif frame to gif frame. I can get both pasted onto the target gif frame, but the COLORS are wonkey. (It only uses colors in the frame already) I went to IMAGE > Mode > and set it to RGB but it did not help. Any ideas? Am I not clear enough? Attached is an Image of the problem. (I pasted it into paint and saved as a gif for a small file size) [attachment deleted by admin to conserve space]I'm not familiar with Gimp but you'll want to set the original image to 24-bit COLOUR, paste, then you should be able to save as a gif to go BACK to 256-color.
