Hi,this is my first post so I hope someone can help?
Google Desktop came pre-installed on my Vaio with Vista Home Premium.(AVG 8.5 antivirus running)
4 weeks ago I had this error msg. on boot-up:
C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~1\GOEC62~1.DLL is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error.Try installing again or contact software vendor.
I o.k. d the boot-up prog error messages and all was O.K.I uninstalled Google Desktop which I discovered this belonged to but it has not solved the problem. Now every day,every program that opens has this error msg.
I have run Revo uninstaller:CCcleaner etc and installed and uninstalled G.Desktop again to no avail- I can't get it out of these programs.
Has anyone any suggestions as to what I can try?
I have looked on the Google forums and others have the same problem but I could find no answers.

I have seen the overinstall method and tried that but it has not removed the threads.
Is there anything else I could try?

-I have no sign of G.Desktop on my computer according to the search I have conducted so there is nothing to UNINSTALL via Start menu or Control Panel.
As I said,I have tried the overinstall and then uninstall but the threads still remain.
Do you suggest the "Using the command line" option?
I think there are files relating to the problem left in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software........)but they cannot be repaired and are stuck there! They may have nothing to do with the problem but it just seems suspicious!Download HijackThis:

Install, and run it.
Post HijackTHis log.
Do NOT attempt to FIX anything!
