Solve : Graphics Card?

Answer»

When I went to boot up my pc - the moniter gave a ticking noise like a spike was GOING through it and wouldn't turn on. I have replaced it with my old 14" moniter and although it works it sometimes spikes and flickers. Is this my graphics card.

Thanks

GlennRestart in Safe Mode, and see, if monitor works fine.try to remove the graphics card and run your computer USING the ONBOARD VIDEO cardQuote

try to remove the graphics card and run your computer using the onboard video card

This assumes there is an on-board video card.

Glenn: are you running video from an installed graphics card in a PCI, AGP, or PCI Express slot, or are you running from the on-motherboard video port?

If there is an on-board video port, and you want to try to use it, remember to access your BIOS settings, and enable on-board video.
