Solve : Graphics card problem.?

Answer»

I bought my Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 PCI graphics card about a year ago. I installed it and it worked PERFECTLY. Not too long ago I had to do a system restore. Since then, my graphics card will not show up. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updating the drivers, everything, but NOTHING works. It STILL will not show up. In my dxdiag, under DISPLAY 1, it says n/a, where my NVidia card should show up. Due to this, I cannot play any of my games. I would attach my dxdiag.txt but I see that we cannot do so. If anyone wishes to see it, I shall EMAIL it to you. I am running Windows XP. Thank you.Delete it from your device manager & re-boot.

And/or....

Control Panel>Add New Hardware....
Don't let XP find it, select it yourself from the list.I went to the control panel and did as you said. I ran into a problem. It says "There was a problem installing this hardware: Video Controller (VGA Compatible) An error occured during the installation of the device. Access is denied." What do I do about that?      Do you have onboard graphics? Could that have been accisdentally re-enabled in the BIOS? Some motherboards will automatically shut off the onboard if a card is installed, but others..... Quote

Access is denied

Are you logged on as Administrator?Uninstall and reinstall videocard drivers.

System restore is never an answer to any type of problem.
