Solve : hal.dll is corrupted or missing.?

Answer»

I googled this up,I found these solutions..

-Safe Mode
-Tried all of these here http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_haldll_missing.htm
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/missinghaldll.htm
-Don't have WinXP CD(Which most people say don't work anyways)
-I can ACCESS the recovery console fine.
-I CAN access the hard drive from the inside using my other computer by connecting the hard drive with the dll error and using it as a slave.

Is there any solution to what I can do with the 5th option being I have access to another computer?Have you tried copying Windows\System32\hal.dll from your working computer to the problem one?Yes,I did this.I knew there was something wrong though,my current computer's hal.dll had 96 KB while the other ones corrupted one had 130 KB.I believe the HAL.dll FILE is unique to the machine XP is installed on...
All the fixes i'm aware of require an XP CD to get it right...I went to Wal-Mart with my pops to do some shopping.Next to the console and pc games I spotted a Windows XP CD,for 99$(100 something w/tax).I asked to buy it and now I'm using it,I really didn't care about repairing.I'm doing a new install right now. There wasn't really anything valuable on that computer. It was a casual comp for just playing games, never used for shopping, storing PHOTOS,etc..But the one that I'm on is the one I would have to backup since its got some of my most important data on it.Well 99 bucks is a good deal for XP...make sure to take care of that investment...
And you NEED to seriously start thinking about a regular backup strategy as you now see how quickly things can go South on you.

Stop by for suggestions...
