Answer» Oh so i Run a Alienware m15x 6gig memory, Nividia 260m series GTX. So when i when to reinstall a NEW copy of windows 7 on, the Windows index says im running at 4.1 for processor speed when it should be ALMOST 7. A CPU at 7Ghz....really ? ?No the Windows 7/Vista ranking system works like this: http://www.mydigitallife.info/windows-7-experience-index-rating-score-tweaked/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_System_Assessment_Tool I can easily achieve a CPU rating of 6.6 with my Celeron E3200, slightly overclocked: The Windows System Assessment Tool is flaky at BEST and isn't a good measure of how a system performs. As Quantos mentioned, make sure the chipset drivers and everything else is installed and working properly. If you want to measure how the system is performing, use some real benchmarking software. The windows experience tool is very iffy ... it rated my cpu at 7, then 6.5, then 4.8 It really is something that you shouldn't judge the system by. If it worked properly ... It would be nice. But just ignore it, personally I use passmark - http://passmark.com Does it really matter? If the computer is fast enough for you then why worry? Of course if it is not fast enough then find out what is running that you can trim out to free up resources.I've run winSAT quite a number of TIMES, every single time I get 7.1. |
