|
Answer» When i try to partition my 2 TB HDD using Easeus i get an error message, check the pic. IntroductionDoes that apply? yes, this hard dive is the main boot drive. Its in laptop hp envy 15-ae008tx it did not had errors previously when partitioned for first time and then i formatted the computer and need to REPARTITION. its Easeus partition master 11 free editionThank you. That Laptop came with Windows 8 64 bit with 8 GB of memory and a 2 TB HDD. On that type of modern laptop, formatting the HD is not a standard procedure. Who told you to format the hard drive? Here is a link you should read. http://support.hp.com/id-en/document/bph07143?jumpid=reg_r1002_iden_c-001_title_r0007 HP PCs - Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive Notice this paragraph. Quote An HP recovery solution can be used to return a computer's software configuration to its original condition. HP provides a recovery solution on the hard drive, but it is still a good idea to have a recovery solution on a USB storage device or discs. A disc or USB device can be stored in a safe place and used in the event of a hard drive failure, a hard drive format, or in the event you change the operating system. Use the sections in this document to obtain a recovery solution that works best for you.I put underline on a critical fact. A format of the hard drive reeds the use of the HP recovery solution. This is not shipped with laptops. (But there are some rare exceptions.) Instead, the HP laptop has recovery partition. Don't destroy the recovery partition. If you have a recent full b backup of everything, you can use it to restore your Windows onto the hard drive. The backup software takes care of any need to format the drive. Does this help any? Sorry for this sentence, correcting my sentence: I reinstalled windows using the hp recovery which made all my partition into single. now i want 4 partition drives for my laptop. right-click on a command prompt icon and open as administrator. In the command prompt window type: chkdsk /r (then press ENTER). You'll be told the disk is in use and asked if you want to run checkdisk on the next boot. Say yes, exit the command prompt window, and reboot. When I reboot, scanning and repairing drive c appears and it stuck at 10% , doesn't move further. leave it - it can sometimes take quite a while depending on the size of the drive. If it's still there after several hours, you'll need to download the hd diagnostic utility provided by the HD manufacturer, burn it to cd, and run it.This may be of some help: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/tophddiag.htm Free Hard Drive Testing Programs Some, like the Western Digital, can be made into a bootable CD. |
