Solve : Help! I cannot reinstall my electronic med. dictionary .?

Answer»

My Stedmans electronic medical dictionary stopped working, did not come up, so I TRIED to reinstall it, but I got the MESSAGE:  The file C\Program files\SEMD60\SEMDuser.fdb could not be opened.

When I tried to uninstall it to reinstall  it again in the add/or remove window, I get:  could not open INSTALL. log file.

I might have lost some program files with Ccleaner?
Stedmans support sent me a fdb file to try to help, but I could not open it.
What can I do?      Quote from: quenna20 on July 22, 2008, 04:53:21 PM

Possible but doubtful - possible that CC cleaned out the old log files, I guess.

Sounds like you are in contact with the program's developer - I'd pursue the ISSUE with them unless you think that you have some underlying hardware/OS problem

Good luck!Instead of uninstalling, have you tried reinstalling over the existing copy? Quote from: CBMatt on July 22, 2008, 07:21:21 PM

I think that was the first step taken.

Heh, I guess you were paying better attention than I was.

quenna20,
What is the exact file that they sent you?  Was it SEMDuser.fdb?  If so, did you place it in the C:\Program Files\SEMD60 folder?
