Answer» I recently acquired this PC from a friend. It was running Windows XP. At that time, the speakers/sound were working just fine.
TODAY I decided to upgrade it Windows 7 via clean install. I'm pretty sure the drivers that made it work were WIPED clean off the PC since I am not getting any sound from the speakers or headphones. I have searched high and low but I can't seem to find any drivers that can help me resolve this PROBLEM. DELL's drivers are only up to Windows Vista.
I am running Windows 7 on a DELL XPS 700 Jet Black AS501 Monitor With Speakers
Connection is not the problem, nor the soundcard, as it was working just fine before I upgraded from XP to Windows 7.
Any help is appreciated.
If Windows 7 drivers aren't available, try the Vista drivers. 7 and Vista are very similar, and Vista drivers ACTUALLY often work just fine for older hardware.
