Q: Why save & work off the floppy disk only? Why not save to the hard drive 1st, then copy or "Save As" to a diskette? That way you have 2 locations for the data in CASE one takes a dump on you Try this: PC Inspector File Recovery but bear in mind that floppies are prone to failure and not a good medium for storing your only copy of something. What is the file format shown on the disk (right click and properties)?
Was this disk formatted in the machine you have been using it on?
Alas, floppy disks die, but I would be interested in the answers to these questions. This happens all the time at work, we get students coming in with exactly the same problem.
We usually use a very OLD laptop with Norton Disk Doctor on it but it can sometime fail and you will generally then lose the work. However if you can get your hands on a Windows 98 or 95 PC then you should be able to get your data of the disk.
Save it to that PC, and on another floppy disk, disgard your original as it is useless now. Then go buy yourself a USB flash drive. Put the floppy in an XP computer and save the file on that and the USB flash drive.
