The card is a Masscool XWT-RC040. I installed it on this PC a while back and it worked fine. The HDD I had my OS on bit the dust so I replaced it and re-installed XP but cannot find the driver disk!! I downloaded the supposed drivers from Masscool but the arent the same as what it came with it and when I FOLLOW Masscools instructions, XP says that it couldn't find the driver even though I had it look in the folder with Masscools "driver" in it. Now, the only way I can access my 1 TB disk is to USE an Ubuntu disk. Is there some sort of universal driver I can use for my controller? After all, Ubuntu has no problem accessing my 1 Tb disk. I tried to but it was a no go. That puzzled me until 2x3i5x pointed out that those drivers were for Windows 7. Since then I have been installing and uninstalling random sata pci card drivers. I'm glad to report that I have solved my problem by downloading a driver from one of VIA's products. Who would have thought. lolI saw they are for Windows 7 but incorrectly assumed they would be backward compatible. Regardless, glad you got it sorted out.Yep, Thanks FOLKS.
