Answer» Hello all... I searched this one without luck.
I WANT to run a SEARCH on both drives to find any duplicated files, so I can choose to delete them and free up space on my massive 40giga. Is there a program that will allow me to do it? Or is there an option in Windows somewhere that will search for all files with the same name and list them for me to have my way with? What other ways are there to free up space, apart from keeping email etc clean and doing regular clean-ups with WINDOW washer etc?
cheers!
CHAD...... . . .
chad ......... I just GOOGLED and found http://noclone.net/ has a free trial
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dupfilefinder.html freeware
http://www.tucows.com/preview/373411 freeware
http://www.gold-software.com/download6981.html Freeware
and there's many more as well.
I haven't used any of these , so I cannot comment on how they work.
dl65 I have used Duplicate File Finder before. It works pretty well.Hey thanks, the first one I tried was spyware and adware free, and works great. They could list the duplicated files side by side instead of in the same window though, so you can compare, but Dupe File Finder does the job, and it's small, only 110kb.
cheers!
