I brought up a browser to test the URL path to the files. .MOD files, it SEEMS, are not always video clip files. They can sometimes be text files and "MOD" is short for "modification instructions" for plug ins for some CMS open source systems. The .MOD file appeared in my browser as a text file. I had spent a LOT of HOURS trying all sorts of different video players and conversion software. "DOH"!!
