Solve : How to change the order in which folders appear?? |
|
Answer» Is there a way I can do this? I want certain accounts to appear at the top of the list. I do not use the Local Folders - so I want that to move to the bottom. I do not use the Local Folders - so I want that to move to the bottom. That doesn't make sense to me. "Local Folders" is the main OE folder containing ALL email folders; this would include the STANDARD OE folders (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, etc.) and any additional folders you CREATE. So, naturally, it's going to be at top. You have two main options for organizing mail from multiple accounts. One technique is using Message Rules to direct mail from certain senders or certain accounts into specific folders. So, you have a folder for Hotmail and another folder for Gmail and then use Rules to direct the mail from each account into the appropriate folder. Or, it could be more detailed than this, with folders for specific senders, not just specific mail accounts. The other technique would be to create a separate Identity for each account. To add an Identity, go to File, Identities.Perhaps I should have ASKED whether your Gmail account is set up as POP3 or IMAP. I have a Gmail account and just changed it from POP3 to IMAP. I see that OE creates/adds all the Gmail folders at the bottom of all the POP3 folders I have in OE. In contrast to POP3 folders which are all part of Local Folders, IMAP folders get added as a separate group below the POP3 folders, below Local Folders. I have many POP3 folders for other accounts and I can see why you'd like to move Local Folders to the bottom. But, I don't believe it can be done. The best solution seems to be to simply collapse Local Folders so that it only takes one line. I thought so. It doesn't make sense to me that the Local folder, which uses POP3, should be hard coded to appear at the top for people who use IMAP, who have nothing to do with POP3. Thank you very much. |
