Answer» I want my computer to load/render PDFs in higher speeds, but I don't know if there are any solutions.
I do a lot of research on 16th-19th century works, which I often download in PDF format from archive.org.
Here are some of the specific PDFs that I need my computer to render/load in faster speeds (it usually takes 5-10 seconds to render a page, which makes SCROLLING down through PDFs a nightmare):

https://archive.org/details/encyclopaediaofp00nevi/page/352 [108 MB]

My Desktop computer specifications:
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit PROCESSOR Intel Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) 8 GB RAM Hyperx Fury (2 of 4GB) EVGA GTX 1070 8GB MSI PC-Mate Motherboard Transcend SSD370 SATA III 6G/s SSD model: TS256GSSD370
Software: I currently use Sumatra PDF.
- Will expensive software load/render such PDFs at faster speeds, such as Adobe Acrobat?
- Is it possible to use the graphics cards to increase loading/rendering speeds?
Any help is welcome. Thank you in advance. If the FILES are being downloaded each time from the internet, then your hardware is not the issue at hand. The internet is seldom doing t 5 megabits per second. But local hardware can transfer data at a much higher rate. The question is whether or not you are using local storage. There are many PDF readers out there. Some are free and work just as good for just reading. You can search for 'Free PDF readers' or just look at this website:
The one I like is not even listed. There is no harm having more that one PDF reader installed. But you have to set which is to be the default for a session.
