Solve : How to play .mp4 or .ram file?

Answer»

I have one .mp4 file. When I try to play this file with Windows Media PLAYER, I encounter an error message "cannot play". How can I play .mp4 files ?

I have one .ram audio file. But, I am not able to play this file as it is not recognized by Windows Media Player.

What should I do to play this .ram file?

VisuYou might want to have a look at VLC Media Player.

Note - I moved this topic to the right section in the forums.VLC is well worth getting but also consider - Irfanview with its plugins - covers a lot of codecs.  Also AlShow and try too Win Media Player Classic (it's an independent freebie) and is well equipped with codecs.

Then - Google to find "Real Player Alternative" and "Quicktime Alternative". - set up with these should enable you to cover most media types.

AlShow is handy as if it can't play something it'll go look on the web.VLC can pretty much do all those things.  smoovjazz,
VLC player is very useful. Two aspects of this software really made a big
difference. One is that it plays a wide variety of files and two, windows media
players do not PROVIDE the best volume in many instances and I'm SURE it's in the decoding from microsoft. In ADDITION, DFX 7 which is a audio sound enhancer increases the volume of media player 9 and 10. When you open wmp 9 or 10, click on tools, audio plug in, look for dfx 7 properties and when the window pops up, you're able to play with sound variations. Download.com or snapfiles.com will help
you download and if you need more download SPEED, download Orbit at Snapfiles
.com while you're there. Of particular importance is the fact that Snapfiles assures
everyone it is free of spyware and viruses. I've used this site for years with no pro-
blems. Software is shareware, freeware, and catagorized with an interface. Try It!
