Solve : HYPERTEXT LINK WITH EXCEL?

Answer»

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to create an hypertext link using only one chosen word (or an other object) in a cell.

Let's say I CHOOSE the word "citation" to become the link.

I would like the link to be opened by clicking on and only on the word "citation".

It is easy with "Open Office".

But with "EXCEL" (2007), I cannot do it: it is always the Whole cell that becomes the link.

Thanks to all of you. After looking through Excel's Help and doing an Internet search, I believe this is not possible. Quote from: soybean on September 27, 2009, 11:20:38 AM

After looking through Excel's Help and doing an Internet search, I believe this is not possible.

Thank you for your search and answer.

After many trials I conclude also that it is impossible.

I am surprise though. It seems so obvious with Open Office "Calc".Hi,

Here is a solution found by "Jipeff" from the french forum "Aide on LINE".

1. Insert a form in the cell (exemple: rectangle), that you will superimpose on the selected word for the link.

2. Adjust the size of the rectangle so the selected word fits in it.

3. Click again on the rectangle and create the link.

4. RIGHT click on the inserted rectangle; choose no "filling" and no "outline or edge".

5. Tag the selected word (color, underline or bold) to remember that there is a link attached to it.

It is also possible to insert the rectangle first and then WRIGHT in it a word or an address.

Sorry for a poor translation for some parts maybe.

Hope it will be usefull as it will be for me.
