Solve : I am having problems with java? |
|
Answer» Long shot maybe but with no CD this is worth a try.
----------- Download Dial-a-Fix by djlizard, save it to the desktop then extract it to it's own folder.
Open Dial a fix again. Open Dial-a-fix and click the hammer icon. Select Flush DNS and click Go When complete, select Repair Permissions and click Go Any changes?I used the dial-a-fix and java removal. It still didn't help. Should I possibly try to repair or reinstall IE7? Do I have to download Java again? Try to reinstall IE7. Might work. Check add/remove programs to see if Java is still installed or not.Java is still installed on the computer. Also how do I reinstall IE7. I went to add/remove programs and cannot find IE7 there.
Do you have an XP CD? If so, place it in your CD ROM drive and follow the instructions below:
---------- http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm Note: A Repair Install will replace the system files with the files on the XP CD used for the Repair Install. It will leave your applications and settings intact, but Windows updates will need to be reapplied. A Repair Install will replace files altered by adware and malware, but will not fix an adware, malware problem. I do not have a windows xp cd. I didn't get one with the computer. I talked to emachines and they said that the recovery part is on the hard drive.Correct me if I'm wrong.....but doesn't the recovery partition bring the computer back to its first-turn-on state? Can you not borrow a Windows CD?yes it does. I tried to recover it the other day with the recovery disks that I made. It didn't work. It kept starting over and saying that there was an error.I don't think that is what you want to do. With Repair Install, it will only repair the Operating System, not revert it to its first-born state.I don't know what else to do because I don't have any discs to repair the installation. Can you borrow a Windows CD from a friend?I don't know of anyone with windows xp media center (I BELIEVE it is considered xp professional)No you will need a Media Center CD if that's what is installed... I'd start asking everyone or you're looking at a new install to get out of this dilemna... |
