Solve : I deleted the driver for my internal Teac 3/1/2 floppy diskette drive .?

Answer»

Hi  I have a ThinkCentre IBM  8249 RUT   S50  with Windows XP Professional SP3 and I am looking for a DRIVER for the internal TEAC 3 1/2 floppy diskette drive .    Thank you . XP should have floppy drivers built in...try removing it in Device Manager and re-booting....
XP will re-install it auto-like.Hi I removed it with Device Manager and XP did re install and get same message , insert DISK , even when disk is in .  That has nothing to do with "drivers". Sounds like either the drive or the disk may be bad. To check the drive, insert a bootable disk and make sure the floppy drive is at the top of the bios boot order, and reboot. Does the system boot to the floppy? Quote from: Allan on November 12, 2010, 04:30:10 PM

Hi  , I tryed that earlier , it does boot to a floppy .  When I put in another disk , it asks for a disk .   I have tryed the disks in other computers with a 3 1/2 floppy drive and they work . Quote from: Billy Nelson on November 14, 2010, 09:47:32 AM

Sounds like your floppy drive heads are misaligned. (did you make the  boot floppy with the "trouble" drive?) Quote from: BC_Programmer on November 14, 2010, 09:56:59 AM
