Answer» I done a system recovery a couple of weeks ago. I have a DSL connection. I might have checked something WRONG when it was asking about how I get on the internet. I have no problem getting online, but often that message will pop up! I usually click"Cancel"and it goes away. If I don't click on it,it will say"Try again the line was busy". I'm still online at the time. It's an annoyance more than anything! Is there some way that I can change the setting without having to do another system recovery? Thanks for your help..
I just received the message just now.
The subject is:
(Connecting To My ISP)
Opening Port DIALING ATT
Error 676 The phone line is busy
call your internet provider...check your network connections then delete the unusable ONE....bravofan71, did or do you have an onboard modem in your computer?
That screen usually comes up when you are trying to connect to the internet via a dial up modem. Chances are you have set the configuration incorrectly.
Go to Control panel.. Internet options ... connections ... there will be a box comes up, it may have a previous modem listed or checked. You can adjust your settings and/or delete your modem here.
Below that in the same box is an area called, Lan settings use that area for your DSL connection. Thanks for your reply. I clicked on:
Tools/Internet Options
My Connections/Connections
I clicked on:Never ask for a dial-up connection and clicked OK.That should do it. You could also remove the old modem from the list if it doesn't cure it.Your info was perfect. I never had that problem ever since! Thanks again.ImnoGuru, your PICTURE there, that looks like a Syncrude truck underneath a 797.Yes Quantos.. Just a minor parking problem at the mine... Hahaha.
Im thinking of putting some new wheels on it. What do you THINK of these?
