Just now I noticed that the text on the computer has a "shadow" in the background. Right now it isn't too bad;however, it is annoying and it is sometimes hard to read. I inserted a CD to see if it made any difference. The same shadow appears in the background. Before you ask if I downloaded any files, I did not. This wasn't doing that before I disconnected earlier. I have CA for antivirus and have not detected any bugs

You say you didn't download anything, but did you make any changes PRIOR to this?
Have you installed any new components lately?
How old is this computer?

Seeing as how I'd never heard of CA until just a few minutes ago (unless you count the state), I question its credibility and usefulness. TRY downloading AVG Anti-Spyware, updating it, and performing a scan in Safe Mode. I don't know if this will help, but it's worth a shot.You MIGHT start by tring another MONITOR on this machine and this monitor on another computer to isolate where the problem really is.
