Answer» Hi can anyone OFFER any advice? I formatted my averatec laptop with a copy of windows xp and deleted all my drivers by accident, I've managed to Download and install most of them except for 2, including my geforce go 6100 display drivers.
My laptop spec are as FOLLOWS - Averatec 2300 series, 1gb ddr2, 100gb sata hdd, amd turion 64 x2 dual core, nvidia geforce go 6100, windows xp.
any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
Did you TRY their web site? That seems like the logical starting point.
http://www.averatec.com/customercare/downloads.asp
Their contact info is here:
http://www.averatec.com/customercare/results.asp Yeah I downloaded all the drivers from their site ( there the ones on my desktop ), and they all worked fine except the video and TOUCHPAD ones I've even tried downloading drivers direct from nvidia but they dont seem to work either, I just get that msg in the SS. maybe Im missing something? :-?1. Get the new drivers but do not install them. 2. Uninstall the old drivers. 3. Reboot. 4. Install new drivers. 5. Reboot. To uninstall the old drivers, just right click in device manager and choose uninstall. Hope this helps.cool I'll try that n let you know how I get on. OK. Let us know.Ive sorted it, thanks everyone for your help, I found a unofficial averatec forum where SOMEONE posted the correct drivers as the ones on the averatec website are broken :-/I see. The drivers on manufacturer's sites are often out of date and/or not working, as you have found out. Glad you got it sorted and thanks for posting back - could you also post a link to this forum where you found the answer?Yeah sure here's the link for all the correct averatec 2300 series drivers http://www.averatecforums.com/showthread.php?t=5643Thanks, I bet that will benefit other users with the same issues.
